Hoop-A-Thon April 7, 2018

Special Olympics Shawnee Storm will be conducting its 8th Annual Hoop A Thon fundraiser on Saturday, April 7, 2018 to help provide funding for its athletic program.  100% of the donations generated from this event will be used for the athletes’ expenses such as registration fees, uniforms, facility and field rental, athletic equipment, state events and special events.  These funds are necessary to keep our team operating and running smoothly all year long.  All contributions to Special Olympics Shawnee are tax deductible to the extent the law allows.  Please help us to maintain a quality program for the athletes by giving what you can.  To pledge in support of one of our athletes, please select the donate button above.

About Shawnee Storm

Special Olympics Shawnee Storm offers nine competitive sports for individuals with disabilities ages eight years and up.  We have over 45 athletes and 25 coaches on our team. We compete in tennis, aquatics, golf, softball and cheerleading on a local and regional level.  Competition for volleyball, bowling, soccer and basketball are on a local, regional and state level.   Practices for each sport are primarily located in Shawnee and are typically once a week with the exception of softball, which is twice a week.   All sporting events are structured so that all skill levels can be successful.  We have an annual Halloween dance and costume party as well as a swim party in late summer.  Shawnee Storm is solely run and organized by volunteers, parents and coaches who go all-out to help our athletes improve and succeed in every sport, and to have fun at the same time.
